The RN5 is Madagascar’s paved east-coast highway. Mahambo and Foulpointe are established beach towns with shops, restaurants, guesthouses and weekly markets.

Legal status

Land certificate (certificat foncier / kara-tany) – the commune-issued document introduced under Madagascar’s 2005 land reform, and the standard legal instrument for rural land of this type. Madagascar Invest handles due diligence, notary coordination and transfer, or potential upgrade to title / titre foncier.

Small farm or plantation – bananas, coconut, cassava, fruit trees and vegetables all do well in this east-coast climate.
Off-grid residence or eco-project – direct road access removes the biggest logistical headache of rural Malagasy land.
